Today, our Dr Autogate technical team continued another busy day around Klang Valley, helping customers repair and restore their autogate systems.

This morning, our team was at Mahkota Cheras installing a new Tronica® 929 swing arm autogate system for a customer. While we were working, the customer’s neighbour, Mr Wong, came over and asked if we could help check his swing gate problem.

Rust Caused the Autogate Bracket to Become Loose

Mr Wong explained that his autogate had not been working properly for quite some time. Because of heavy rain and hot weather over the years, the gate structure had become rusty. The metal around the autogate bracket became weak, and the hole on the gate slowly became bigger. Eventually, the autogate bracket almost came off from the gate completely. The gate became unsafe to use, so he stopped using it for nearly two weeks.

Before meeting us, Mr Wong had contacted a few autogate companies nearby. However, many did not want to take the job because it mainly involved gate welding and repair work instead of changing the whole autogate system.

Gate Welding, Roller Replacement & Wiring Repair

After checking the gate carefully, our technicians found that the autogate motor was still in good condition. The main problem was actually the rusty gate structure, damaged bracket area, worn gate roller, and old wiring connection. Instead of asking the customer to replace the whole system, we suggested a more affordable repair solution.

Our team welded a steel plate onto the damaged gate area to strengthen the structure. After that, we rebuilt the mounting section and installed the autogate bracket back securely. We also replaced the damaged gate roller and repaired the wiring to make sure the system could work smoothly again.

After the repair was completed, the gate was able to open and close normally again. Most importantly, the gate structure is now much stronger and safer than before.

Not All Autogate Problems Come From the Motor

Many people think the autogate motor is spoiled whenever the gate cannot open or close properly. But in many cases, the real problem comes from rusty gate structures, broken welding points, damaged rollers, loose brackets, or old wiring. That is why proper checking is very important before replacing the whole autogate system.
